FAQ:

What should I wear?
That depends on what you like—but my recommendation is that you try to chose solids over any patterns. For outdoor portraits, earth tones photograph well. If you are doing group photography, please coordinate your outfits for continuity. You may have multiple colors, as long as they compliment each other.

What time of day?
Outside of the studio, early mornings and late afternoons provide the most complimentary lighting for photography.

Do you photograph pets?
You bet! Love to--

Who should come to the photo shoot?
Beyond the people in the picture, as few as possible. Moms are a must for babies, of course. If siblings are not in the photo shoot, it is best if they are not at the location, because sometimes it gets distracting. Older children often act more naturally when Mom or Dad aren't looking over my shoulder, so if I ask you to maybe take a little walk nearby (if we are on location) it is because I can sense that I am not getting a genuine photograph of your child. This is of course, up to you, but sometimes having an audience makes it less comfortable for the person who is being photographed. I want to be able to capture emotion and personality...not just get the "school picture" grin.

What about the weather?
If weather is an issue for an on location photo shoot, we will reschedule, at no charge.

What about cancellations?
As long as you let me know 24 hours in advance, you will be fine. Otherwise your sitting fee is forfeited.

How far in advance do I need to schedule??
That depends. The earlier you can book it, the safer you are. November is typically a very busy month with family portraits, so please schedule early if you are wanting a holiday portrait.

To bare or not to bare?
I love taking bare bottom pictures of babies, and bare toes, and sweet hands. I will never take a photo that compromises modesty for any age group...trust me on this one!

What if I want to order more images after my original order?
I cannot guarantee that I will have an archived copy of all of your images. Therefore, please choose carefully when you are selecting images-so that you have all the ones you would like. If you need more time during the selection process to show family and friends who may want to order, please let me know so we can make a different arrangement.

Can you have prints made if I want you to?
Of course. I don't usually do this for clients, as part of what they like about me is that they can print their own images, but it is something I can easily do for you. We can discuss cost of prints at the time of order. Please let me know in advance if you would like this kind of package. Print prices will be added on to the regular package.

What about props?
Yes...they are welcome and encouraged-- if your child has a favorite stuffed animal or blanket-- bring it-- sometimes these things just make everything seem more comfortable for my littlest of photo subjects. Often times if a child is holding something you don't want in the picture, like a love tattered blanket, I can get the shot without the undesired object, or edit it out later. Senior portraits are also a perfect time for props (Letterman's jacket, sports equipment, etc). I have many props that I can offer you as well.
